Selex Communications is reportedly in the process of developing a software-defined radio that will feature a cryo-cooled, digital superconductivity technology, analog-to-digital Asic developed by Hypres, that will reside in an absolute temperature circuit. Hypres has proven in the past that all-digital receivers can directly convert radio-frequency signals to digital at any frequency and bandwidth at a performance level that exceeds any current satellite or software defined radio equipment. The Hyrpes all-digital receiver will provide high-performance, multi-channel wide-band reception for Selex’s new radio.
