October 26, 2011U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. and Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, announced their plan for a “Made in America” block grant program at HYPRES. The program is designed to support and create growth opportunities for small- to medium-sized high tech manufacturing companies such as HYPRES. The company develops digital superconductor technology, innovative software and market-ready IP for applications including mobile broadband, medical imaging and high performance/energy efficient computing. In addition, the company is the leading commercial foundry for digital superconductor electronics—the world’s fastest integrated circuits.
“We’re very excited about the critical support the Made in America Block Grant program will provide to energy efficient, high speed computing manufacturing, such as here at HYPRES,” said Richard Hitt, CEO, HYPRES. “This little known, one-of-a-kind digital superconductor chip foundry in New York State is a good example of US critical technology that must be protected.”
Numerous local dignitaries, business/economic leaders, and members of the media attended the Senator’s announcement on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011. HYPRES officials provided tours of its premier, commercial foundry for digital superconductor chips, discussed its latest technical advancements related to communications, MRI and advanced computing, and provided insight to the positive impact the block grant program could provide to the company.
